How I love my Huckleberry, let me count the ways...

1. I love your snores - some soft and sweet, others long and deep, like a jet engine revving.

2. The way you nibble on soft things while you're rolling on your back.

3. How you hold your soft plush toys in your mouth like a pacifier.

4. The way you hog the bed. Never straight up and down; always side to side to take up as much real estate as possible.

5. How you throw a tantrum when you can't be on the couch. You stomp your feet like a bull, snort, and toss the cat (or dog) bed around in a fit of defiance, all the while looking at me with such despair.

6. The number of rotations it takes you to make the cat bed comfortable for a dog your size. Most revolutions at one time - 12.

7. Watching you chase Lola around the cars in the garage. Even when she zigs and zags under the truck and you can't reach her, you still run in circles until you get so frustrated you let out a series of throaty barks until she comes out from hiding.

8. The way you lumber when you walk.

9. The way you wag your tail in circles, instead of back and forth.

10. The way you run to grab my shoe or slipper when I come home. You never chew it. You just hold it gently, wag your tail, and whine ever so softly.

11. The way you let Pepper stick her butt in your face or how Josie bosses you around. You're always so gentle around the kitties, even Squeaky when she thumps you on the head whenever you stick your head through the cat door. You even let them use you as a pillow.

12. How you answer to every name... from Huck to Lola to Huckabooby to Boo to everything in between.

13. How you love veggies and fruits almost as much as I do.

14. The combination woof/chirp noise that you make when you're dreaming.

15. How you spend your time at the dog park; not playing with other dogs, but going up to all the humans, one by one, sitting at their feet, and getting petted.

16. How you roll onto your back at Pit Ed class when you're bored or looking for attention.

17. How well you tolerate Lola barking in your face, biting your neck, your knees, your ankles, your lips, all in an effort to get you to play with her. You usually respond by rolling on your back, giving her even more access to your neck, snorting and trying to find something soft to nibble on - a blanket, my sleeve, Lola's whole leg.

18. How awkwardly you play fetch. You know how to run, but you aren't real good at the stopping or keeping your feet from kicking the ball further away from you.

19. How happy and excited you are to see Lola, even when it's only been as little as 20 minutes since you last saw her.

20. How you're able to clear a room with just one fart.

21. The way you grunt like an old man when you're taking a poop.

22. How I never have to feel scared when you're with me. I know I have a warrior to protect me now. One that wouldn't hesitate to defend me.

Adventures of Sara Dog

Hi. It's me. Sara Dog. The most awesomest dog in the world. Holla!

I'm staying overnight at my human's. But, don't worry. I'll be back on the 3rd for a couple more days of adventure. Today I got to walk with my buddy, Goose. When we got to his door, I could smell him and started wagging my tail. He flew out the door and we started dancing around, sniffing each other's butts. I invited myself into his house, but my human yanked me back outside to wait. Rude.

After Goose was leashed we walked for awhile and I got to poop. We dropped Goose off and then took a ride to PetCo. I didn't get anything but my human bought a bunch of cat food for the kitties.

We got back into the car and drove for a long time. My human stopped at a store and bought some food. Back in the car. More driving.

Suddenly I recognized where we were and I started whining and wagging my tail. We got out of the car and entered the house. I went in slowly because I knew there were kitties in the house and I didn't want to scare myself... I mean THEM. I didn't want to scare them.....

We played outside for awhile and my human watered her plants. I got to kick a ball and roll around on the ground. I even managed to get cobwebs on my head. We went back inside and my human made me a peanut butter-filled kong. I slurped it down pretty quickly as I'm on a "diet" and my peanut butter intake is limited. * whatever *

The kitties have been staring at me, but I'm pretending that they're not there. Even the big fat one has come out of the other room to look at me. The mean one has poked her head out a couple of times, but as soon as I move she darts back into the room. I know I'm a dog, but that is one scary cat! When they hiss, I go the other way. I'm no dummy. I do like smelling their beds and food bowls. They've started chasing each other up and down their big house, which is fun to watch, just so long as they stay OVER THERE....

I got to meet a new doggie this evening. I made sure to bark, bark, bark when they rang the bell to let them know that a badass diva was in the house! The doggie is named Bella and she's spending the day with us tomorrow. We got along pretty well, especially when she realized that I am the boss and not her. As if.

After Bella and her humans left, we went for a walk on the trail. We didn't see any doggies but a bunch barked at us from their yards. I was kind of pooped and took a quick snooze when we got back. Bubba came out of the bedroom and stared at me but I didn't pay him any attention. The kittens were flinging themselves all over the place and Bubba was keeping an eye on them. My human fixed me dinner and fed the cats in the other room.

Pretty soon it will be time to poop and then bedtime. Tomorrow should be fun and I'll try to post some pics of me and Bella (mostly, me).

Ciao.
Sara

Adventures of Lola Bean... Day 1

Today I walked around a new apartment complex and got to meet some new humans. My human let me ride in the car today to get breakfast. Then we went into a store that had all kinds of treats and toys and I got to see a whole bunch of dogs. Some of them made me bark bark bark, but I liked one little doggie I met. We saw the UPS man outside of the pet store and said hello. My human seemed to know him.

Then my human drove me back to her apartment and I tried to play with the cats but one of them just hissed at me. I like the other one. He seems nice. He's pretty fat and tried to eat my food, but I've been playing with his toys so I guess we're even. Then we got back into the car and my human drove me to a house I haven't been at before. There I got to meet a big dog named Zoey. She's a greyhound and she likes to run. We took a walk together and pooped and peed. I tried to bury a dog treat that my human gave me but Zoey found it. I got a little mad and barked barked barked at her. I found myself back in the car after that, so I laid down on my blanket and took a quick nap.

My human came back to the car and drove me to a nice park. I got to meet two new doggies, one named Sparky. He was nice. I didn't bark at him. I rolled around on the ground in my cute pink coat and slid around on my belly. After scent marking we got back into the car and came home. I chewed on my new bone for awhile before I fell asleep. I like rolling myself up in my blanket when I sleep.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Love,
Lola Bean
